Currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts at California Institute of the Arts with a bachelors degree in studio art from Willamette University, King’s work spans across medium and subject. Whether diving deeper into a way of working or becoming hyper fixated on how a material interacts with the world and social themes, much of her work is in conversation with itself with exploration at its core.

As a photographer she specializes in black and white film practices, frequently expanding on what can be achieved with the medium. This experimental approach drives her to change push and combine any material she interacts with to understand it in a more meaningful way.

While King has recently been drawn to her own experiences and background as a grounding theme, often looking to other Black artists for their exploration of African American hair and culture, her work spans a variety of themes and contexts.
